Parent education has always been a major investment for Montessori schools. Yet, when asked about their top challenges, school leaders consistently list parent education and retention. This raises a critical question: Do parents want to learn more? Why aren’t they attending parent education events? What do they truly need and want?

To explore this, we conducted a parent survey and received nearly 100 responses. We analyzed the data and visualized key findings in a one-page Tableau dashboard

Notably, nearly 50% of parents reported that they are not actively seeking to deepen their knowledge of Montessori education. However, this doesn’t mean they’re disengaged. In fact, many expressed a strong desire to better understand what their child is learning and how they can support that learning at home. These findings—and many others from our survey—open a powerful opportunity to reimagine how we approach parent education to make it more effective, relevant, and engaging.
